Big 5 Canvas and Tents has been turning out canvas and PVC goods since 2002: production runs for brands, trade work for installers, once-offs for everyone else, and cut parts for whoever needs them.
Who we are
Big 5 Canvas and Tents is a production factory: CNC textile cutting, industrial sewing, high-frequency PVC welding and eyelet pressing under one roof, run by people who have spent their careers in canvas.
The business started in 2002 as Jackalberry Canvas. In those days, mostly once-off work. New management took over in 2019 and shifted the focus to contract manufacturing: the CNC cutting machine arrived in 2020, high-frequency PVC welding in 2021, the same year the company became Big Five Canvas. White-label production for brands is the heart of it today, and the same machines also build for the trade, take once-off jobs, and cut parts for other workshops.
Where we work
The factory is at 14 Pommery Road, Nietgedacht, Fourways, on the northern edge of Johannesburg. Clients across South Africa work with us; couriers handle the distance.
